Tyler Algeo is the founder of Climb Malawi, a socio-economically inclusive climbing community where everyone is welcome and no one is turned away. The Climb Malawi project is a community center with a climbing gym at its core: a place where people can gather to join a community, engage in healthy recreation, and gain access to resources to improve their lives. Tyler has over a decade of development expertise as a consultant in the water and sanitation sector as well as working for a medical device social enterprise providing innovative tools to enable safe surgery in low-resource settings. For The Global Climbing Initiative, Tyler is bringing valuable real-life perspective to the best practices project and helping us shape resources needed by people developing climbing areas and communities around the world.
